Abstract EN

The aim of the study was to identify the societal, family, economic and health problems that rural families suffered in each of the two villages in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate and to determine the significant differences between these problems and the studied variables in the research area.

The sample involved 200 rural families, representing 10% of the total number of families of the two studied villages, 87 of these rural families are from the Jarajeh village in Kafr El Sheikh Center, while the other 113 are from the Al-Hawah village in Bella center.

Data were collected using a questionnaire by personal interviews.

Furthermore, the statistical methods used in this study are descriptive analysis and qui square.

The results indicated that the level of problems faced by the respondents' families was moderate.

Their percentage reached (67.5%, 50.5%, 48%, 42.5%) for each of the family, economic, societal and health problems, respectively.

Family and economic problems are most prevalent and afflicted by rural families, while the least of them are health problems.

The most important problem is the spread of unemployment, dependence on the cultivation of traditional field crops, the lack of entertainment services for the family within the villages, and the declining role of the private sector in the village.

In addition, the results showed that there are significant differences between the wife’s education, the husband’s education, the husband’s work status, and the husband’s opinion on the woman’s work, and each of the groups of problems covered by the research.
