Abstract EN

This paper entitled “Impact of the Common Practices on the Fatwas of Sheikh Ibn Baz” emphasizes that our monotheistic religion considers, in establishing the legal rulings, the common practices that are in line with the Holy Book and the prophetic traditions to ward off any difficulty for people.

The paper consists of two sections: (1) It gives definitions of Common Practices and related terms, showing its validity as legal evidence and that all schools of jurisprudence make use of if all prerequisite conditions are met.

In this section, the Common Practice is divided into the following types: valid/invalid, verbal/nonverbal, and general/specific.

(2) It explores the method of sheikh Ibn Baz regarding the Common Practices and how he addressed it.

It identifies the criteria of Ibn Baz for considering it valid for legal evidence according to his fatwas and all relevant issues.
