Universities are the main sources for the development of society in various aspects of life and it’s reflections, in one hand, and the development of the environment on the other hand, because of the important role these institutions may have and advancing development aspects of society, economic, environmental, political, cultural and other fields.

They are a beacon to the confluence of expertise and scientific communication and cultural cooperation with other societies.

Universities are the ultimate institutes for the preparation of human resources and development which contribute to the development of the scientific movement and technological progress and cultural development among societies.

Such role has been reinforced by accelerated movement of scientific and technological development in the world.

Contemporary sustainable trends associated with the university campus and in terms of seeking to upscale them to suit the requirements of the current era, and enhance their role in the overall development and effectiveness, in general, and development of issues related to the environmental aspects, in particular.

This paper issues questions about the most important aspects and indicators by which to strengthen the relationship between man and the environment within the internal community of the university, on one hand, and within the larger community outside, on the other hand, in accordance with the concept of environmental sustainability, and what is the reality of the situation local than that? To answer these questions, an analytical approach has been adopted for the previous studies and experiments, in order to extrapolate those aspects and indicators that show the distinctive role of the university campus and sustainable.
