Abstract EN

The objective of this research is to analyse the influence of foreign direct investment flows on unemployment rate in Algeria over the period of 1990 to 2019.

We employ an econometric model in the Auto Regressive Distributed Lag to investigate mainly the relationship between foreign direct investment and unemployment rate.

In addition, we add some control variables fixed capital formation, population growth, and public spending to support the main connection of this paper.

Our findings show that the foreign direct investment and fixed capital formation have a negative and significant influence on unemployment, so an increase by 1% on exogenous variables decrease the level of the unemployment by 0,10% and 0,82%, respectively.

However, the population growth and public spending have a positive impact on endogenous variable
