The objective of this study is to uncover the concept of postmodernism and expose it clear and comprehensible terms, and also to present the most important founders of postmodernism, while trying to uncover the philosophical and intellectual premises that served as the theoretical ground and background of postmodernism.

the importance of research on the topic of postmodernism lies in considering it as one of the most significative topics that characterize this era, in addition to the fact that its ideas gained several active fields as philosophy and the analysis of culture and society broaden the horizons of critical theory, as it served as the starting point for several works in literature, criticism, history, and culture.

through all of this, it has strived to liberate man from the occidental-centralized discourses that dominate his modern history and control his consciousness of things.

the methodology used in this article is the process of presenting data according to an investigative, analytical and critical approach, which works on the analysis and criticism of data and opinions.
