The degeneration of ancient Arabic poetry was linked to the emergence of the doctrine of madness which dates back to the beginning of the Abbasid era.

the cited doctrine was created by a group of humble poets, the most prominent of which was the poet Abu al-Ibar, who with his poetry and his insane behavior contributed to demolishing the image of the poet and the degeneration of poetry.

the current study will aim to develop the way in which Abi al-Ibr destroyed the components of ancient poetry.
