Arab countries are looking to include information and communication technology (ICT) initiatives as part of national development strategies with a broad perspective aimed at sustainable development and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals through the effectiveness of digital technology tools.

Research relies on a composite approach based on theoretical reasoning in its analysis of economic dimensions to statistical data as Arab countries, in particular the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, are moving towards global entrepreneurship in the field of e-commerce, which needs to accelerate the growth of markets E-commerce on the Arab scene, e-commerce is relatively new in the region compared to the developed countries and there are many factors that have helped to grow them, including the high level of income, increasing the number of Internet users and smartphones, changing consumer preferences, and the environment.

The research confirms that e-commerce in the GCC countries is the fastest growing market in the UNCTAD e-commerce Index estimates and there is a significant weakening of the Arab countries in information and communication technology, which has led to a low efficiency of trade transaction performance.
