Abstract EN

Federalism is one of the controversial issues that most Iraqis have no clear idea about the real content of federalism and the unavailability of the good willsbehind geographical federalism in Iraq.

Instead of that federalism is a source of power and solidarity amongst the contents of the Iraqi people; it will divide it into sectarian and ethnic regions encouraged by external power.

The aim of the study is to shed lights on the concept of the geographic federalism and its most significant characteristics and its applicability in Iraq with giving some examples from the different countries to be aware when we talk about such system as one of the proposed governmental systems in Iraq.

If the federal system was applied in Iraq on the basis of the geographic federalism, they will be able to live together in a frame of a unified country respects and protects the religious ethnic and sectarian diversity and guarantees the division the Iraqi oil fortune and the other fortunes in Iraq which eliminates the need of Iraq to the oil if was well invested in the frame of justice and equality and omitting the past mistakes through the diverse equality system not in the context of ethnic and sectarian division which leads to the destruction and loss of all.

The Iraqi government should look at the federal governments such as UAE and other countries and have the national responsibility morale and look to the far future and there is no future to Iraq unless in the frame of a free unified Iraq based on the coexistence between the cultures and belongingness and harmonizing the national unity represented by the Arabism and Islam and this is the only way to build modern Iraq expected and sought by all Iraqis through the past years.

If the disharmony of the political forces with the aid of the external powers, failure will be the fate of Iraq.
