The theory of possible worlds represents a transition in fiction studies, especially in narration field: it attempts to reveal those areas between the external reality world, textual truth, and imagination.

The theory of possible worlds is philosophical in origin, and therefore its literary applications arc rare even in the Anglo-Saxon or francophone criticism that produced it.

However, the works of Umberto Eco were one of the most prominent applications in this context.

The historical novel, with its documentary reference, represents one of the most important narratives that combine reality elements with imagination to form multidimensional worlds.

By studying «Thc Corsair», a historical novel by Abdul Aziz A1 Mahmoud, we are trying to reveal these dimensions through the perspective of possible worlds, passing - at the same time - over the representations of historical narrative in Qatar.
