The aim of this research is to evaluate the reading book for the third intermediate grade according to the dimensions of sustainable development by answering the following question: -What is the level of availability of the dimensions of sustainable development in the reading book for the third grade average? In order to answer this question, the researcher followed the analytical descriptive approach to analyze the content of the reading book for the third grade according to the dimensions of sustainable development to suit the nature of this research.

This research focuses on investigating a specific phenomenon or issue with the aim of diagnosing it and uncovering its aspects, Educational, psychological or social.

The research is determined by the reading book for the third grade intermediate, which was determined by the researcher in the academic year 2017-2018.

To achieve the research goal, the researcher prepared a questionnaire for the indicators of sustainable development, and in accordance with the Iraqi educational environment.

After analyzing the reading book for the third grade, The results of the statistical analysis revealed the availability of the developmental dimensions in the reading book for the third intermediate grade, such as the social dimension ranked first with frequency (82) and 82 (82%) percent of the total number of repetitions (99).

While the economic dimension was ranked second (42) and 42.42% of the total number of recurrences (99) times, and the environmental dimension was ranked third (26), 26% (26%) of the total (99) recurrences.

In light of the research results, the researcher recommends the following: .

1 Adopting the dimensions of sustainable development in the construction of educational programs and textbooks for all stages of study.
