Abstract EN

The research aimed to identify the reality of spatial distribution of youth forums and sports clubs in the city of Basrah and assessed the efficiency of its services for 2018, and to estimate the needs of that service according to local standards to reach a fair distribution of these services.

The research was based on the field study to obtain information and data related to the research, The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) program was used in the mapping based on the satellite visual of the city of Basrah, in addition to statistical standards, and used the population standard in most neighborhoods of the city and the standard of the Ministry of Planning, which is based on In forums and sports clubs, each according to its activity and efficiency, as well as the standard use of space, which is based on the allocated per capita of the population and their suitability with the allocated standard space, and also touched on the problems of the forums and sports clubs, whether physical or technical or administrative.

The research found that there is a bad distribution of forums and sports clubs and insufficient and efficient in terms of distribution as well as the lack of space and disproportionate to the planning standards, especially local ones.

The current needs of the city as well as the future need of sports institutions have been identified until 2028.
