Abstract EN

This study addresses an important and common feature in the Arabic proper names in Palestine and in Jerusalem in particular.

This phenomenon is distinguishing the real Arabic proper nouns from the non Arabic names.

This study consisted of an introduction, and three chapters and a conclusion.

The study showed the extensive cultural background the citizens of Jerusalem have, and how they skillfully utilized this in their borrowing of proper names from all international languages.

The study also illustrated the ability and flexibility of the Arabic language in assimilating these names and thus keeping in pace with the developments of life.
