Abstract EN

Job creation is a priority for all developed, emerging and developing countries, especially in Arab countries, which faces a clear shortage of job creation in their labor markets.

This led to a considerable level of unemployment rate which is more than double the global average unemployment rate.

Creating more green jobs as well as adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals- SDGS 2030, will impose additional burden on Arab economies, particularly achieving sustainable growth capable of creating sustainable jobs.

The study aimed to determine the potential for Arab countries to shift towards creating green jobs and assessing their ability to succeed in achieve such shifting, by analyzing structure of production, exports, and labor markets in the Arab countries.

The results showed that Arab countries in general are still far from meeting the requirements of shifting production structures and jobs towards a green based economy that considers the dimensions of sustainability.

Nonetheless, the study found that there are many solutions that facilitate a fair shift towards creating green jobs, based on the ability of the Arab countries to modify the model of their economic growth.
