In order to secure the elections and to consecrate their transparency and integrity, Algeria undertook many reforms that formed a wide legal and regulatory arsenal for the election process, most notably the creation of the constitutional founder in light of the recent constitutional amendment of 2016 for a modern constitutional institution called the "Independent High Authority for Election Monitoring", which enjoys wide oversight powers As a qualitative leap and an important step for establishing the rule of law and establishing transparent and fair elections.
