Abstract EN

The research aims to uncover the correlation between positive thinking and motivation of the achievement for a sample of students in the faculties of education and science, in addition to revealing the differences between positive thinking and motivation of achievement according to the research variables (gender - type of college - the academic year).

The sample consisted of (185)class-teachers students at the Faculty of Education at Damascus University and ( 202) students from the geology students at the Faculty of Science at the University of Damascus.

The researcher used the measure of positive thinking prepared by Dr.

Abdul Sattar Ibrahim (2011) and the measure of motivation prepared by Abdul Rahman Al-Azraq.

The research reached the following results: 1-There was a significant correlation between positive thinking and the motivation of achievement 2-There were statistically significant differences at the level of (0,05) between the average scores of students on the scale of positive thinking according to the gender variable, and there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) among the students mean scares on the achievement motivation scale according to the sex variable.

3-There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the students mean scares on the scale of positive thinking and the measure of motivation achievement according to the variable of the school year.

4-There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0,05) between the students mean scares on the scale of positive thinking and the measure of achievement motivation depending on the variable of type of college.
