Abstract EN

The study aimed to detect the effectiveness of a training program in improving the functional vision of partially sighted children, and to detect the continuity of the impact of the program on improving the functional vision of partially sighted children after its implementation.

The study was performed on a sample of (12) partially sighted children in the center for special education for rehabilitation of the blind in Damascus Governorate.

They were randomly divided into two groups, a control group (6) children who have not followed the training program, and an experimental group (6) children, who have followed the suggested training program0 A functional vision scale was developed for partially sighted children, and a training program was designed to improve their functional vision.

The results proved the effectiveness of the program in improving the functional vision of children with visual impairment in the experimental group, where the study reached the following results: -There were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the degrees mean ranks of the children of the control and experimental groups in the post-measurement on the functional vision scale of the partially sighted children, and their sub-dimensions in favor of the experimental group.-There were statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the degrees mean ranks of children in the experimental group in pre-measurements and post-measurements on the functional vision scale of the partially sighted children and their sub-dimensions in favor of the post-measurement.

-There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the degrees mean ranks of children in the control group in pre-measurement and post-measurement on the functional vision scale of the partially sighted children and their sub-dimensions.

-There were no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the degrees mean ranks of children in the experimental group in post and delayed measurements on the functional vision scale of the partially sighted children and their sub-dimensions.
