Abstract EN

This study was conducted to evaluate the Behavior, correlation and genetic path coefficient analysis in oats (Avena sativa L.

) under the influence of foliar spraying with potassium and the field experiment was conducted during the winter season (2019-2020) at the Agricultural Research and Experiments Station, College of Agriculture, University of Kirkuk according to the split-plot system within The Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), with three replicates, where the agricultural field was divided into three main plots, the main plots included the levels of foliar spraying on the plant with the potassium element in the form of potassium sulfate 52% K2O, with three concentrations (0, 10, 20 g.

L-1), and each sub-plot included thirteen genotypes of oats (Alguda, Anatolia, Pimula, Genzania, Hamel, Icarda short, Kangaroo, Icarda tall, Mitika, Possum, UC-132, Monte Zuma, and Cayuse) and each sector contained (39) experimental units on which the treatments were distributed to combinations between the studied factors randomly.

Some indicators of growth and the yield were studied which are: the duration to 50% flowering (flowering.

day-1), the grain filling duration, the plant height (cm), the number of total tillers (tiller.

m-2), the number of active tillers (tiller.

m-2), the flag leaf area (cm2), the number of branches per dalia, the number of grains per dalia, the weight of 1000 grains (g), grain yield (kg.

ha-1), the biological index (kg.

ha-1), and harvest index (% ).

The results of the study were summarized as follows: The values of variances and the coefficient of phenotypic and genetic variances ranged between low and medium for all traits.

The values of broad-sense heritability were confined between medium and high for the traits under study and at three levels of potassium (0, 1, and 2).

High and average values were found in most of the traits for the expected genetic improvement as a percentage of the general average for the studied traits and under three levels of spraying with potassium (0, 1 and 2).

The genetic correlation under three levels of spraying with potassium (0, 1, and 2) was positive and significant between grain yield.

The results of the analysis for the genetic path coefficient showed that there is a high direct negative effect in the duration to 50% flowering per day and positively in the number of active tillers (tiller.
