This article deals with the study of the media and the electronic press in the Algerian legislation, which caused a great controversy in media, political and academic circles.

Faced with the transformation of Algerian society into the information society, particularly with the spread of the electronic press and social networks.

The following question can be asked: does the Algerian legislation aim to give more freedom to the? media and the electronic press, or is it restricted and limitedThis study has reached a range of results.

Most importantly, Organic Law No 12/05 on information is no longer in line with developments in the field of the media, electronic media and social media, on the one hand, and that it is not, at least in part, identical to the content of the constitutional amendment of 2016.

Either reconsider and develop it, or draft a new law on information that is in line with current developments.
