To reflect the text of Article 160.

2 of the last constitutional amendment of 2016, the Algerian legislator, by virtue of Law No.

17-07, amended and supplemented the Code of Criminal Procedure, decided to issue a number of reforms affecting the system of litigation in the Penal Code, especially those relating to the Criminal Court.

Prior to this amendment, it was impossible to review its judgments by appeal, even though they are in the most serious cases in terms of the violation of the person's freedom.

Thus, the Algerian legislator has tried to provide a measure of care for criminal justice by deciding on the principle of two degrees of criminal court.
