Summary: One manifestation of spousal violence is the intentional wounding or beating that has spread in our society, which has promoted the Algerian legislature to intervene in an attempt to confront this phenomenon by criminalizing all acts of beatings or intentional wounding between the spouses, including the slight beating of the wife, which is a means of disciplining if Its requirements are in accordance with the provisions of the Islamic law, and the penalties prescribed for the same offences are emphasized in comparison with those established in accordance with the general rules in order to achieve private and public deterrence, since the emphasis is applied even if the marital association ends if the criminal acts are related to it, and it is provided for Forgiveness as a reason for the end of the penal follow-up in some crimes of wounding or intentional beating according to the result thereof, as well as the exclusion of the application of extenuating circumstances in certain cases concerning the victim or the circumstances of the Commission of the crime.
