The biography of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is predominantly taught using the traditional lecture-based method in most educational institutions.
In this study‘ we propose the use of practical projects‘ particularly in the teaching of morals‘ as a successful and effective alternative to more theoretical forms of teaching.
The sample in this study consisted of (50) students divided into two groups (an experimental and a control group).
The former was taught using the new practical approach while the latter followed the standard mode of teaching.
The results of the analysis demonstrate that there are statistically significant differences between the two groups in the promotion of ethical values‘ favoring the use of education through practical projects as compared to the traditional mode of teaching.
We argue here that using practical projects in the process of teaching the biography of the Prophet ‘ and potentially Islamic studies in general ‘ plays a positive role in both the pedagogical and religious outcomes of teaching.
