Abstract EN

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using Fun learning strategies in teaching social studies in developing some geographic concepts and sense of Humor of second year preparatory stage students.

The descriptive method was used in this study to review the literature, design the study instruments, and discuss the study results.

The experimental method was used for the experimental treatment.

Sample of the study consisted of a group of 82 second year prep students selected from Shawashna prep school and divided into two groups, one experimental and one control.

Results of the study showed the effectiveness of fun learning strategies in developing students' sense of humor, statistically significant differences at (0.01) level were found between the experimental and control group students, in favor of the experimental group.

Also, results of the study showed the effectiveness of fun learning strategies in developing the study sample's geographic concepts, with statistically significant differences at (0.01) level, in favor of the experimental group.

The researcher introduced some valuable recommendations important for teaching and learning of social studies.
