Abstract EN

This study aims to measuring the degree of economic diversification in Algeria by following the development of the HerfindahlHirshman index in Algeria for the variables: GDP, Exports, Imports and Total fixed capital accumulation during the period 1980-2016.

This study aims also to searching the priorities of this diversification, which requires the creation of efficient economic sectors outside the hydrocarbons sector, which would achieve significant increases and qualitative transfers in the level of GDP.

The most important results of this paper in its practical aspect on the Algerian case is that the economic diversification of all previous variables has not yet been achieved, and that the focus on productive activities of medium efficiency achieves a better economic performance
