This research emphasizes on studying and publishing a unique Seljuk dirham coined in Nishapur in 428 Hijri.

The dirham carries the name and the title of the Seljuk ruler Tughril Beg.

This dirham is preserved in the Yahya Jaafar's collection in the United Arab Emirates.

The study conducted an accurate, scientific description, and analysis of this dirham the light of different circumstances.

Tughril Beg ordered to coin this dirham and recorded his name when he entered Nishapur in the month of Sha'ban 428 AH during the intense conflict that took place between him and Sultan Masud I of Ghazni to dominate Khorasan province; including Nishapur as mentioned by Ibn al-Athīr and Al-Nuwayri
The research includes a comparative study between this dirham and the Seljuk dirham that was coined by Tughril Beg also in Nishapur in the year 428 AH, which currently owned by the American Numismatic Association's collection NYC.

Also, a comparison was made between this dirham and the oldest Seljuk dirham coined by Tughril Beg in Nishapur 431 AH (currently preserved by the Center for Islamic Numismatics, University of Tübingen, Germany).

Besides, pointing out to other Seljuk dirhams, as well as bow and arrow decoration.

As a conclusion, it became clear that this dirham was coined by prince Tughril Beg in Sha'ban 428 AH after he conquered Nishapur to confirm the subordination of Nishapur to his rule against his opponents; the Ghaznawi.

This unique dirham was not studied or published before and it's considered the first and the oldest of the Seljuk dirhams that were coined in Nishapur.

This dirham that has the name of Tughril Beg is considered an important addition to Tughril Beg's dirhams in particular, which coined Nishapur and considered an important addition to the Seljuk dirhams in general.
