Ethnography is one of the methods of qualitative research emanating from anthropology, which has been used in many fields, especially social sciences.

Ethnography is concerned with the study of the human culture of individuals from its cultural and civil dimensions, relying in particular on participatory observation and on immersion in the individuals' daily lives.

This approach has evolved and moved from the real world to the virtual world thanks to the development of Internet and the increasing integration of individuals in it.

The latter has become a suitable environment for research and opened new horizons for ethnographic work.

The transition to the virtual world has brought about radical changes and challenges to the ethnographic work, which have affected data collection tools and the research scope itself.

Consequently, discussions about practicing ethnography online, off-line or both together have emerged.

The concept of context has been raised as well, as an important methodological issue due to the multiplicity and complexity of the research environment.
