Abstract EN

The current study aimed at investigating the academic problems among Hebron Univ versity Students and their relation with some variables.

It investigated the issue of academic problems as a multidimensional phenomenon.

To achieve that, the researchers developed a questionnaire that included (84) statements distributed over six dimensions; namely, the problems include to academic abilities and skills, the problems include to ordering and orgv ganizing the content of academic courses, the academic advising, the academic adaptation, exams, and the relationships with faculty members.

The questionnaire was distributed to a stratified random sample of (689) students.

The sample constitutes of (15%) of the total population.

The collected data was analyzed by using the SPSS statistical package.

Results show a medium level of academic problems among Hebron University students.

The most common among these are the ones related to exams, then the problems related to sequencing the content of academic courses, then those related to academic advising, relationships with faculty members, the academic adaptation, and finally the problems related to the academic skills.

Study findings revealed statistically significant differences between the size of problv lems and the variable of the place of residence.

Findings showed significant differences in favor of inhabitants from rural areas, in other words, students coming from areas surroundiv ing Hebron faced more academic problems.

Findings also show a significant negative effect among the variables of the grade point average and the number of semesters spent at the university and the degree of difficulty faced by students on the other hand.

No statistically significant differences were found among academic problems and other variables of gender, academic level and college.
