Abstract EN

International attention to human rights in general and the rights of minorities in particular has increased.

Minority rights are no longer under the internal jurisdiction of the State, but violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms are one of the reasons why international organizations intervene in the internal affairs of States to prevent such violations.

The United Nations has issued a set of charters and declarations which constitute the legal basis for the establishment and guarantee of rights, including self-government and the right to self-determination.

Through this research, we have tried to present a vision to address the problem of ethnic minorities through the United Nations Charter and declarations concerning minorities.

We have also explored the impact of the right to self-determination in dealing with these problems by recognizing the content of this principle as it crystallizes through the historical context, which focuses on the right of peoples to be liberated from the domination of colonialism.
