Abstract EN

The present study deals with what has been written by the two ImamsIbn ‛Odaiy andAl-Dhahabiy about the narration of ‛Amr ibn Shu‛aib on the authority of his father, following his grandfather.

Both writings are studied in the light of the views of the critics and the modern scholars to see which of them is likely to be correct and to be closer to the judgment of the majority of scholars.

The introduction of this research paper tackles the significance of the research topic, its objectives, the research method, and the research plan.

The first section introduces the terminology and provides short notes on the two authors in the title.

The second section contains the comparison, which begins with other scholars' sayings about the topic in question.

These sayings were used as a benchmark against which the writings of both Imams were judged.

Finally, the findings of the study are recorded in the conclusion.
