principled polysemy opens up new ways for cognitive researchers.

Tyler and Evans are two theorists who built the foundations of this theory, they show the other meanings of the words, clarify their different meanings, reveal their hidden relations and create meaningful semantic network for studied data.

The aim of this paper is studying the verb “Kharaja” in Qur’an and drawing its semantic network in the principled polysemy framework.

The used method is analytical descriptive.

Results show that “Kharaja” makes a middle network which central meaning is the most frequent meaning.

The most important tool to build meaning in this network is: foregrounding, focusing on first part of verb, virtual relationships including causal relationships, Necessary relationship and finally Emphasis on the pure emergence and the transformation of the present.
