Abstract EN

This article tends to highlight religious grounds and legal codes that allowed the Algerian legislator to recognize the right of muslims and non-muslims to freely exercise their denominational rites in decision number 03.06 of 28 February 2006.

This law has been strongly criticized and challenged, especially by human rights bodies and international bodies responsible for defending civil liberties.

Algeria and through unjust reports, has been accused of disrespect for religious liberty and even to have legally put a hand on it, while we know that this principle is precisely guaranteed universally, by the human rights treaty all the more, Algeria and through its new project of reform of its penal code aims to consider any form of racial or religious segregation as an offense, respecting thus the Treaty of Human Rights and Civil Liberties.
