Abstract EN

The various institutions and autorities in Egypt, especially the governmental, suffer from a lack in applying strategic management systems.

The most of them including institutions of higher education do not apply strategic plans for achieving their objectivies, Which result in the failure in implementing the activities as well as the faliure in achieving the goals.

The research aims mainly at evaluating strategically the internal an external environment for the faculty of agriculture- Menoufia University as one of the state institutions (according to the norms of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and accreditation of education).

The results of strategic evaluation showed internal and external weakness of the faculty.

The main recommendations of research could be summarized as follows: - Utilizing the results of the TOWS Matrix analysis in formulating the goals and activities of the College Strategic Plan.

- Higher education institutions in general and the agricultural in particular should apply the strategic management methods.

- The science of strategic management should be taught beside the science of farm management, which is already taught at the departments of agricultural economics and agri-buseness.

generalization applying strategic management approach in various institutions and authorities of the different sectors in the state according to their norms of quality and target groups.
