Abstract EN

This study deals with an important historical theme.

it is entitled: (animism in the society of Western Sudan in the Middle ages).

this study consists of three parts.

the first part aims to clarify the concept of country of Sudan and its geographical surroundings.

the second part is devoted to the analysis of aspects of the animism.

in the third part, we try to focus on the organization of society in the light of the animist religion.

in conclusion, we summarized the search results as well as the various recommendations which are proposed by us.

indeed, this study showed that the African man has worshiped deities quite variable.

but with the emergence of Islam, most of these spiritual aspects have gradually disappeared.

the study also showed that there was a strong relationship between the Western Sudanese society and animism.

this relationship has allowed to a better understanding of the intellectual and mental structure of the society being studied and the mechanisms that govern their daily lives.
