The establishment of the French council of the Islamic religion by the French authorities is an important step towards the integration of Muslims of Maghreb origin in French society, and to establish a culture of dialogue of civilizations as a mechanism for communication with them.

this research seeks to highlight the most important obstacles that prevent the French council of Islamic religion from being able to function successfully.

the study concluded that the most important obstacles that prevented the activation of this council's role were the French authorities' untrue intention to establish a body representing Muslims, but looking for a way to control and integrate them without taking into account their cultural and civilizational specificities, as was the competition between Islamic organizations with external extensions.

especially with the countries of the Arab Maghreb, a role in impeding the work of this body, and nurture the roots of conflict and competition, in addition to several organizational obstacles related to the composition of the commission itself, either through its representative or electoral system.
