Abstract EN

Occupational health and safety is a major concern in the priorities of organizations as one of therequirements for its success and its impact on the productivity of workers by providing theappropriate working environment.

This is achieved through the application of (OHSAS18001)standard, which represents one of the contemporary international responses to cope the problemsthat happened with the industrial development of the business environment.

The research problemwas to reduce accidents and injuries, to know the availability of occupational health and safetysystems in the organization and to determine the size of the gap between the actual realityachieved and the requirements of the standard.

The objective of the research is to implement therequirements of the occupational health and safety management standard, Work or disposal tomaintain the health of employees and work to create the best harmony between the requirementsof the standard and the current reality of the abolition or bridging the gap The battery factory waschosen as a site for the study.

Data was obtained for interviews, as well as a check list.

In order toreach the desired results, a number of statistical analysis methods were used.

And revealed a gap(77% ) and reco mmended that the researcher should provide sufficient resources to implement thesystem
