Abstract EN

This article is to demonstrate a type of criticism in which is occupied an extended area of ancient Arabic poetry.

This type of poetry has not been studied well by authors and researchers, on the contrary, some poets used it as a way to gain money, criticize people, and expose them.

This kind of poetry is similar to the commendatory poetry type whereas they are similar to each other.

In other words, the similarity between the commendatory and criticism poetry are both aiming for benefits and earnings; however, each type has its way in persuading.

This article consists of three parts: the first part discusses the roots of the phenomenon and its sources, the second part discusses the rising period time of the phenomenon, third part explains the popularity of the phenomenon and how did it diminish.

This article is depended mainly on the Alaghani textbook as a reference.

Where this book has factual examples of this phenomenon for the period from the Aljahili era until the Bin Alaabas era
