Abstract EN

This study investigates the application of symbols of the heritage and their functions in the poetic experiences of Yahya Al-Samavi with a one introduction and two theoretical and applicable pivots .

The first pivot specifies the concept of symbols of the heritage and their applications in poetic texts and the second one considers some of symbols of the heritage such as religious, historical, literary, mythical, and folkloric symbol which can be found vastly is the poems of Al-Samavi .

Al-Samavi has wed these symbols as a unique poetic instrument through which he is going to express estrangement , exile , love towards his mother country Iraq , andbattle against injustice , fear and ravage in his sl country which are born out of dictatorship and occupation .

Then he sets these symbols as his grounds for sensing (intuitional) views .

And it is a reflection of an Arabic Iraqi`s real sufferings who tries to distance from restrictions of realities and to become free from varieties of injustice and despotism .

Therefore , we find themes of the heritage for Al-Samavi`s symbols which is the resulted his rimose feelings facing with sufferings of exile and his political , social and religious reflection so as to apply them in his them in his thought service .

The result is that Yahya Al-Samavi could turn his poetic language to a code one by nice values and figurative amphibology .

And he could use this technique as one of most significant instruments.
