Abstract EN

This study focuses on the problem of the personification of animals in narration through the model “Butterflies and Ghouls“by the Algerian writer Azzedine Djellaoudji.

The study uses a descriptive analytical method.

This novel has been specifically chosen due to its aspect of rebellion against traditional stereotypes and its experimentation of new techniques, mainly personification; a literary phenomenon of an aesthetic value that has contributed to a shift from the familiar writing style, causing astonishment and amusement in the reader’s mind.

On the one han, the writer was able to escape censorship.

On the other, it presented reality to the reader with its conflicts and ironies.
