This field study aimed to know the uses of the Algerian intellectual elite for the news satellites during the quarantine.

The research has used the descriptive method and a questionnaire which Was distributed to a sample of 53 Algerian intellectuals who use the satellites news in the city of Setif, using the theory of uses and gratifications.

the study found a set of results, most important are that the members of the Algerian intellectual elite watch satellite news to follow the news of corona in the world and in Algeria, and These satellites achieved various gratifications to them during the quarantine.
