Abstract EN

The present study aimed to uncover the relationship between life satisfaction and perceived social support among a sample of 59 resident female students in university residencies of m'sila.

In the current study we used the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SLWS) by Diener, Emmons, Larson, and Griffin (1985).

And the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) by Zimet, Dahlem, Farley, and Zimet (1988).

We relied on the Pearson Correlation Coefficient.

The results shows that there was a statistically significant intermediate relationship between life satisfaction and perceived social support among the resident female students, Where the value of the correlation coefficient was (0.

38), In addition, the results also showed that there is a statistically significant average correlation between life satisfaction and perceived social support in the family dimension.

It is the same with each of the other two dimensions (Friends and significant others).

The most important recommendations that we reached was to intensify awareness programs for parents about factors that help raise the level of self-esteem of female students.

Researchers should also conduct more research and studies in the field of preparing and developing extension programs for life satisfaction.

Among the recommendations was also to educate parents about the need to provide a fit, acceptable environment in the home that is a source of satisfaction and pleasure.
