Abstract EN

Throughout its long course the Arabic poem was associated with poetic music which is based on the dualism of meter and rhyme and the situation remained the same for many ages until the prose poem appeared, which sought to break this connection, and its declaration of a complete break with the Khalili's prosody, at the same time establishing a musical rhythm of its own far from the classical rhythm.

This study seeks to identify this new rhythmic structure that was established by the pioneers of the prose poem, trying to uncover its concept and its components that set it to be a real alternative to the dualism of meter and rhyme.
