Abstract EN

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the capital expenditure and profitability for listed Iraqi companies at Iraqi Stock Exchange.

The study use Panel Data techniques for sample of 57 companies for 10 years during the period 2005 - 2015.

The fixed-effect (within) regression model was used to examine this sample.

The study has concluded that there is a positive significant statistical relationship between capital expenditure and profitability of Iraqi companies in general and there is a difference in this relationship depending on the nature of business practiced by the company (sector type) as the study found that the relationship exists in some sectors such as industry, services, hotels and agriculture, and is not found in other sectors such as banks, insurance and investment.
