Abstract EN

This article deals with the problem of translating Maqamat into Spanish language by applying the theory of paratranslation, having been mainly inspired by an idea of “Genette” who had approached the concept of Paratext.

Our choice was Serafín Fanjul's translation of the Maqamat of Al Hamadani, since the Maqamat are texts rich enough in marginal notes that “Genette” included in what he calls "Paratext".

Through the Spanish translation, this article aims to summarize a practical study of paratext in the maqamat, through some concrete examples in order to prove the act of rewriting and recreation in the Maqamat's translation.
