This piece of paper aims at addressing the status of translation in the transfer of intellectual and scientific knowledge in English to build Arab culture and knowledge, and at shedding light on the position and importance of the English language as lingua franca in the age of globalization.

It also seeks to clarify the role of translating knowledge and science into Arabic in promoting culture and enriching language.

To conclude, translation is one of the pillars of the scientific work that focuses on the transfer of knowledge and intellectual culture upon which Arab societies are built and develop and establish what is called recently: "knowledge society.
