The article aims to know the position of one of the leading figures in Islamic thought towards political despotism, namely Imam Muhammad al-Ghazali, who was one of the leading propagandists in the twentieth century.

Al-Ghazali's thought calls for confronting political tyranny and rejecting the oppression and tyranny of authority by opinion, and by all peaceful means, in return he rejected coups that lead to great corruption, and between this and that he called for the activation of a system of shura, as it is the basis of good governance, and every people has the right to choose the method of achieving them and the most honorable methods.
