Abstract EN

The right to run for office is one of the political rights that the state has the need to consecrate and protect, especially with regard to women as they are the main partners in society, and with reference to the constitutions that Algeria has known since independence, and the wave of changes that Algeria has known, constitutional texts came to recognize the principle of equality among all citizens.

To the latest constitutions of 2020 and laws related to elections, the latest of which is the decree of 01/21, which first introduced the principle of parity.

This research paper comes in order to track the right of women to run for office in the Algerian constitutions through its successive amendments, by following the descriptive and analytical approach.
