The Law 07 was issued determining the general rules That protect the physical persons in matters of processing personal data, and which must be implemented on the basis of respect of the human dignity, private life, public liberties and without prejudice to the persons's rights, their honour and their reputation.

The Algerian legislator has established a national authority in order to protect the personal data.

It is an Independent administrative authority at the President of the Republic, and enjoys moral personality, financial and administrative autonomy, determining its formation, working rules and powers.
