Abstract EN

There is no doubt that the orientalist position on the Sunnah* is not one sided, it is instead one that is distributed on different aspects of it that are deeply related to the Hadith* and its documentations and sources.

This is because orientalism has its unique view on the terminological differences between the concept of Hadith and that of the Sunnah, this view is established to further their views and ideas.

Their views on the revelations was and still is a subject that orientalists keep coming back to to question the credibility of the Sunnah.

This is similar to the discussion about the phenomena of recording the Hadith and the purpose behind it, which shows the uncertainty of this group when it comes to establishing set points about the same issue, which in turn raises doubts about the methods, objectivity and the conclusions of their studies.

*Sunnah: The traditions and practices of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that constitute a model for muslims to follow.

*Hadith: The recorded words, deeds and silent approvals of prophet Muhammad blessings be upon him.
