When the city of Algiers became an independent zone in the new organization of the national territory, it knew a great guerrilla activity and an important historical role during the year 1957.

The French authorities realized that the Algerian revolution had a new strategy to follow to fight it, so it faced the situation and called that confrontation between it and the Algerian revolutionary organization the " Battle of Algiers ".

During this period the National Liberation Front (FLN) confirmed again the struggle of the Algerian people in the cities against the oppression and terrorism of the 10th Parachute Division for independence and freedom.
