Abstract EN

This study aims, essentially, to understand the reflexion on cinema from the perspective of Christian Metz, as well as the functioning of the cinematographic language, basing on a linguistic approach aimed at grasping its specificity, mechanisms and its expressive, artistic and narrative functions.

And this, practically, falls within the scope of linguistically approaching the cinematographic image by making a whole projection on the cinema, all the more on the cinematographic idea as it is developed in the Metzian discourse.

Furthermore, this study is supposed to conceive the logic of the metzian cinematographic metaphor, precisely, to pose the question as follows: how could we theorize the cinema via linguistics? Key words: - Language.
