Abstract EN

The present research deals with the origin of the Khmer Rouge who represent the aborigines in Cambodia located in the south-east of Asia.

Funan became a country belonging to Kingdom of Chenla after ruling from the 2nd C.

to the 6th C because of the deterioration of the trade routes with China and India and the collapse of the trade activity between China and The Mediterranean Sea.

Chenla Kingdom ruled Cambodia from the 6th C.

till the 9th C A.D.

The Khmer Rouge divided Cambodia into states during the 6th, 7th, and 8th Cs which in turn started to fight each other for the purpose of authority and dominance.

The Angkor empire flourished in the northern west of Cambodia for 600 years, from the early 9th century till the 15th century C A.D.

But in the meantime, the Angkor empire passed several stages of deterioration and flourishing.
